How would your life look if you were just 10% happier?
If the wind rustled through the trees just a little louder and those experiences with your loved ones were just a little more clear and memorable….
Well that’s a journey that Dan Harris went on. Read more
Predictably irrational is one of those book you read and you constantly look back on yourself saying: “Hhmmmm, I guess I do that too….”
If I had to summarise this book to a friend in one sentence I would say:
“It turns out we don’t know ourselves as well as we think we do and we aren’t really as rational as we would like to believe we are.”
How to fail at almost everything and still win big by Scott Adams is one of those surprising books. You don’t expect that much form the guy who created Dilbert. Sure he’ll have a few good stories and fit will be funny. But you aren’t expecting to it to completely change how you decide which project to do and which ones to ignore.
Well that is exactly what this book delivered and much more!!
I want to almost call Scott the working man’s hero. He’s been there and done it and escaped the corporate rat race. Scott worked in corporate America for 16 years and alwasy kept his energy up by using his system of doing things that gave him more energy. Whether this was at work or little side projects. He was always working on something that made him want to get up in the mornings…. Read more
I’m sure around this time of year lots of you experience the year end blues. The year feels like it should be over, but the last few suborn weeks just don’t seem to want to give up. Days drag on and you are just looking forward to the Christmas break where you can spend some quality time with family.
In this short video I explain the two main things I use to fight against those end off year blues and sprint all the way to the finish line:
Diet is a really touchy subject and people love getting worked up about it.
In this article I’m going to cover why the diet you follow doesn’t really matter that much, it’s about what you are trying to achieve. The reasons I follow this eating plan, from family cancer scares to increased energy and mental clarity. I also share some of the products and tools I use to make this as easy as possible.
I’m going to get this out of the way right at the start here. I am not a doctor and I do not pretend to be one (except for Halloween 2 years ago). All of this is based on my own research and experiences.
Ok so now we can get to the fun stuff!!
This article is structured around questions I asked a lot and get asked a lot. So you can jump straight to the section that interests you:

I have a bit of a confession to make. Don’t worry I’m not about to over share (like that family member who had too much to drink over Christmas), I’m sure you might have the same problem. You never plan for it to happen, but when it does, an entire weekend can disappear without a trace…..
I love binge watching series over weekends.
I’ll start on a Saturday and by Sunday evening, I’ll be wrapping up the last episode of the season.
The only problem is that I feel super guilty after doing it!! There are always things I know I should be doing while I watch the series. So I don’t really enjoy it.
It’s exactly the same when I’m checking Facebook at work or chatting with a friend. It’s fun, but I feel a little guilty because I know I should be doing something else or I won’t get all my work done.
After struggling with this for a while I heard the following quote on a podcast Tim Ferriss did with Jocko Willink:
“Discipline will set you free” Read more

Unless you’ve been living under a rock, I’m sure you have heard about mindfulness and meditation or seen some celebrity talking about it on TV.People like Tim Ferriss, Oprah Winfrey, Hugh Jackman, Cameron Diaz, Katy Perry, Ellen Degeneres and even some of the largest hedge fund managers in the world are saying that meditation is something they do each and every day.
So what’s all the fuss about?
Could sitting still and thinking about nothing really make such a big difference?

So where did this whole article on smiling start? Funny story……
I have this friend who is one of those people. You know the ones, they are super popular, easy to talk to and everyone wants to be around them. This guy just seems to cruise through life and have a ball doing it. So I decided to ask him what his secret was. We discussed a lot of different things, but one thing that really surprised me was that he believed smiling was his secret weapon.
This sounded too simple to be true, so I decided to do some research. There are lots of studies out there that actually prove something as simple as smiling, will have a massive impact on your life.
Seriously, who wants to be friends with stress?
Stress is the horrible bully that beats everybody up all day, but when you get to know him a little better, he isn’t really that bad. In my previous article on stress we covered how stress works and what you can do to neutralise its negative effects the moment you feel it.
Stress, the big bad bully that everyone knows so well.
We all complain about it and suffer from it everyday. Whether it is stress at work, stress in traffic or stress at home, we’ve all experienced it.
